Underwater Heat Exchangers

Barely a month goes by where ECOTHERM does not produce underwater heat exchangers for our customers. But what are these heat exchangers actually used for?

In hydropower plants, whether running or storage power plants, the lubrication of the turbine impellers plays an important role. For the re-cooling of the cooling units, our underwater heat exchangers are mounted in the outlet channel (after the turbine). Through our heat exchanger, a mixture of water and 5%-30% glycol (frost protection) flows and releases the heat safely to the environment. Therefore, it is also of the utmost necessity that the heat exchangers are 100% tightly welded.
