ECOTHERM Powers Decarbonization in Brodnica
ECOTHERM has recently signed a significant contract with a district heating plant in Brodnica, Poland. As part of this project, ECOTHERM will supply a 2MW electric hot water boiler, which will play a central role in the plant’s decarbonization plans. This modern boiler will complement the existing cogeneration units and the large photovoltaic system already in place. The combination of these technologies will enable a more sustainable and efficient energy supply for the residents of the connected residential buildings.
A notable highlight of this project is the integration of the boiler into the automatic Frequency Restoration Reserve (aFRR) system. This connection will allow the heating plant to significantly reduce heating costs by optimizing load distribution and thereby managing energy consumption more efficiently. Another positive aspect of the project is the planned demolition of the large chimney that has previously dominated the facility. This underscores the heating plant’s commitment to a clean and environmentally friendly future.
